Sigma Kappa provides valuable leadership development opportunities to its members. As an organization Sigma Kappa encourages our members to be involved in at least one extracurricular activity during their collegiate experience. Because of this focus on involvement outside of Sigma Kappa, our sisters are able to engage with the campus and community in ways that are important to them.

Our chapter is very involved with not only our community but we plan various events throughout the semester to contribute to our philanthropies. Each fall, we put on an event, "Frats at bat", in which fraternity brothers make teams to compete against eachother in baseball, while all the proceeds go to the Sigma Kappa Foundation. We also participate in the Walk to end Alzheimer's. This usually takes place in Pittsburgh. Each sister individually raises money before the walk, and all the proceeds go to the Alzheimer's research. In the spring, we hold a UltraViolet Bingo event, in which we sell tickets for members of the community to play bingo. We provide snacks and prizes for the winners, and all of the proceeds to go the Sigma Kappa Foundation and the Alzheimer's Association for research. Along with these events, we strive to have a positive impact on our community by doing community service and always helping others when we can.
